Ms. Xie took care of our daughter for 6 months in 2022 starting from when she was 3 months old. I very strongly recommend her as a nanny without any reservation; if you are considering a nanny, you should ask for her by name. In order of greatest importance to our family: 1. she was very kind and loving to our daughter. She elicited our daughter's first big belly laugh and she continues to know exactly how to make her laugh and smile. At the same time she helps to foster a close bond with a busy working parent, always setting things up well for quality time. 2. she is experienced with young children, she knows how to physically handle them safely and also knows how to positively redirect them during a tantrum. She helped us with sleep training and the transition to solids with the perfect balance of her own experience and deference to our preferences. As mentioned by a review I see from another prior family, remarkably, our child developed essentially no diaper rashes as evidence of her close care. 3. she is extremely capable. She cooks well and efficiently, and gets all of her work done even with her sleep disrupted at night when our child kept her up. 4. she is hardworking and self-directed, and put us first. As an example, on rare occasions when we needed her to, we would ask her to cut short her break time and she would without hesitation 5. she has great positive energy and related well to the whole family. She enjoys what she does and is well supported by her family, brought no emotional baggage into the home, instead, shared with joy stories from her life / family / previous families she helped to take care of. She was a joy to have around. 6. She accepted feedback well With her help our daughter grew from under the 20% percentile to over the 50th percentile in both weight and height, had no major illnesses, and overall has had a safe, happy, and healthy transition out of infancy. As a bonus, we kept our sanity. We really appreciate her help. The only downside is that we and our child will miss her very much! |
